IN MESSAGE
Never stop short of the goals and objectives set before you. May the perspectives and incentives the LORD has imparted be present and motivational at all times. Whatever He has given must be constantly fed, nourished and exercised if the best results are to be attained. As you see others around you bent on succeeding in their natural and earthly professions, realise you are aiming for something bigger and eternal. Your sight and commitment must always be properly focused and as you retain a faith and ardency so you will be amazed at what has ultimately come through your labour and doings. You will not have spent yourself for vanity!
A WISE SAYING
“My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: for whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom He receiveth” – Hebrews 12: 5b,6
As your heavenly Father He knows the best and profitable ways to discipline His sons. Remember: He always has your present and eternal interests at heart. Neither He nor you want to be disappointed with the results.
PROMISES TO BE EXPERIENCED
The word is: “Thou wilt show me the path of life: In Thy presence there is fullness of joy; and at Thy right hand are pleasures for evermore2 – Psalm 16: 11. To be truly and fully exhilarated and satisfied in and with life, there is the need to know the LORD and live within His presence. Better still, allow Him to live in you and His being with you will cause to enjoy life to the full. He has everything you require to make you contented, secure and fulfilled and knows how to turn things on to a greater state of pleasure and delight. Learn today to live close to Him and you will sense and know Him bringing things to pass in and through you that will be one of incredible and untold joy. He is always at hand to grant you those things that will enrich in every way.
DAILY MEDITATIONS
CARED FOR– Jeremiah 39
There is no doubt about it; the Lord does know how to take care of His own in troublesome times. As Jeremiah had been faithful to the Lord in delivering His word to His people, so in return, when the prophecies came to pass, He would preserve him in the hour of need. Instead of being subjected to torture, captivity or death, he was to be wonderfully looked after by the enemy. They showed immense kindness to him by releasing and giving command over his welfare. The word was: “See that he isn’t hurt. Look after him well, and give him anything he wants” v12.
The man who had previously befriended him, Ebed-melech, was also guaranteed security in those trying conditions. God’s servant was able to give him a word that would assure his future. He was told that the Lord would rescue him from those he feared so much and that he would be kept safe. Those who had disregarded the Lord, the king, officials and people were to pay an awful price for their sin but God’s own servants and believers would be graciously spared and looked after. When He makes a promise He knows how to bring it to total realisation.
In these perilous and tumultuous days in which the Christian Church is passing through, it is assuring to know and note that the Lord is well able to give His word of preservation thus relieving of undue anxiety and fear. Though threatened on every quarter with all kinds of terror, He speaks the word of peace and assures that He will look after His peoples’ interests. Do not allow what is occurring in the world to reduce you to a state of panic and distress because He will be your safeguard and bring through every ordeal secure and truly blessed.
