IN MESSAGE

Never stop short of the goals and objectives set before you. May the perspectives and incentives the LORD has imparted be present and motivational at all times. Whatever He has given must be constantly fed, nourished and exercised if the best results are to be attained. As you see others around you bent on succeeding in their natural and earthly professions, realise you are aiming for something bigger and eternal. Your sight and commitment must always be properly focused and as you retain a faith and ardency so you will be amazed at what has ultimately come through your labour and doings. You will not have spent yourself for vanity!

A WISE SAYING

“My son, despise not the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: for whom the Lord loveth He chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom He receiveth” – Hebrews 12: 5b,6

As your heavenly Father He knows the best and profitable ways to discipline His sons. Remember: He always has your present and eternal interests at heart. Neither He nor you want to be disappointed with the results.

PROMISES TO BE EXPERIENCED

The word is: “Thou wilt show me the path of life: In Thy presence there is fullness of joy; and at Thy right hand are pleasures for evermore2 – Psalm 16: 11. To be truly and fully exhilarated and satisfied in and with life, there is the need to know the LORD and live within His presence. Better still, allow Him to live in you and His being with you will cause to enjoy life to the full. He has everything you require to make you contented, secure and fulfilled and knows how to turn things on to a greater state of pleasure and delight. Learn today to live close to Him and you will sense and know Him bringing things to pass in and through you that will be one of incredible and untold joy. He is always at hand to grant you those things that will enrich in every way.

DAILY MEDITATIONS

CARED FOR– Jeremiah 39

There is no doubt about it; the Lord does know how to take care of His own in troublesome times. As Jeremiah had been faithful to the Lord in delivering His word to His people, so in return, when the prophecies came to pass, He would preserve him in the hour of need. Instead of being subjected to torture, captivity or death, he was to be wonderfully looked after by the enemy. They showed immense kindness to him by releasing and giving command over his welfare. The word was: “See that he isn’t hurt. Look after him well, and give him anything he wants” v12.

The man who had previously befriended him, Ebed-melech, was also guaranteed security in those trying conditions. God’s servant was able to give him a word that would assure his future. He was told that the Lord would rescue him from those he feared so much and that he would be kept safe. Those who had disregarded the Lord, the king, officials and people were to pay an awful price for their sin but God’s own servants and believers would be graciously spared and looked after. When He makes a promise He knows how to bring it to total realisation.

In these perilous and tumultuous days in which the Christian Church is passing through, it is assuring to know and note that the Lord is well able to give His word of preservation thus relieving of undue anxiety and fear. Though threatened on every quarter with all kinds of terror, He speaks the word of peace and assures that He will look after His peoples’ interests. Do not allow what is occurring in the world to reduce you to a state of panic and distress because He will be your safeguard and bring through every ordeal secure and truly blessed.

IN MESSAGE

Whatever has happened to you in your past has been permitted to train and educate in the knowledge of Himself and for the outworking His great plan for your life. It may appear like a jig-saw at times, but He is putting piece to piece together and when the final piece is slotted in, He and you will be delighted with the outcome. Even those times and situations that did not appear to make sense or profit will turn out to be a vital part of the programme. Your role is to quietly trust His love, wisdom and power because He will not fail to be with you to bring all things to perfection. When all is concluded you will be immensely happy at what He has truly brought to pass. The end of the story could not be better!

A WISE SAYING

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint” – Isaiah 40:31

True faith and courage are like a kite – an opposing wind raises it higher. The LORD gives that power and energy that enables one to soar, to run and to walk. Whatever is on the agenda, He is there to energize.

PROMISES TO BE EXPERIENCED

“And he shall become like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper” – Psalm 1; 3. A certain course of action directed by God, if followed through, is bound to have glorious consequences. Here, as you are obedient to His Word, His precepts and promises, your future is assured. The guarantee is that will know and enjoy His abounding presence and blessing in your life and doings. There will be nothing withheld that is to your good and advantage. You will be greatly loved and esteem by Him and it will become apparent in the bumper blessings that will abound in your lifetime.

DAILY MEDITATIONS

THE TRAUMA OF FEAR – Jeremiah 38: 14

“Fear has torments so it is stated in Word of God and this was apparent in the life of king, Zedekiah.  No one would imagine that a monarch who had the authority as king should be terrified of his officials under him, but it was so with this man. He went to the prophet to make secret inquiry as to how things were going to turn out in relation to the enemy on their doorstep. He was afraid to go openly although he had the right to do so. He felt threatened by his subordinates and allowed them to reduce him to a state of impotence through fear.

It would seem that this individual is in trauma because of people close at hand and the fact of future captivity. God’s servant gave him the answer of the Lord to take a positive step and submit to the enemy and all would come right. He refused to go that route and as a consequence had to let fear maintain its rule. There was no release from the anxiety that was eating at his mind and heart but his experience was one of constant dread. If he had submitted to the Lord and His word he would have entered into a state of spiritual peace but this was not to be.

Fear is an ever-present spiritual factor that seeks to traumatise the mind and heart and create untold terror and unease. The society in which we reside appears to be a terrorised one as people are threatened with all kind of evil things. It is essential that Christian believers live in touch with the Lord and His Word. Where He lives and rules this evil is effectively dealt. His perfect love and inspired word have the capacity of casting out and eliminating all fear. You can be and live at peace because He, Jehovah Shalom – the God of peace is with you always.

IN MESSAGE

There is great joy to be discovered in witnessing for Christ and especially so when those who have been witnessed to turn to Christ. Do not be embarrassed to share your Lord and Saviour with others. They need Him, too. What He has wonderfully brought to pass in and through you can be wrought again in those you talk to. Be wide awake to the opportunities that will be presented and enjoy the blessed consequences of seeing more lives changed and transformed by Christ. Make sure that you do not go to heaven empty-handed. May the LORD in that day say to you: “Well done thou good and faithful servant, enter into the joy of your Lord.”

A WISE SAYING

“Yea, I hated all my labour which I had taken under the sun: because I should leave it unto the man that shall be after me” – Ecclesiastes 2:18

No one ever said on their death bed: I wish I would have spent more time at work!

Labour for the Lord is bless in this life and rewarded in the next. No one can work too much or hard for Hi

PROMISES TO BE EXPERIENCED

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap if we faint not” – Galatians 6:9. There are moments when you become tired in your work for the LORD but not tired of the work. Occasions occur when the demands are immense upon you and there is the experience of real drainage and weariness. It is then one must realize that there is going to be a blessed and bumper harvest. That thought becomes a refreshing inspiration and adds zest to the spirit and prepares even for more loving labour and industry for Him. The pay day and out is simply incredible and is intended to act as a spur to pressing on and through until mission is accomplished.

DAILY MEDITATIONS

A FRIEND IN CRISIS – Jeremiah 38: 1-13

God’s servant was to face another trying circumstance. There were those who were not very pleased with his prophesying and wanted to dispose of him and so asked the king to get rid of him. Zedekiah was not a strong and courageous king and easily wilted under pressure. Instead of befriending the prophet he allowed him to be taken by these men and thrown into a miry pit. It looked as if Jeremiah’s time was up as he began to sink in the awful mud. Where was the Lord when he needed him? Was he to end his career in such a shameful and horrid fashion?

The Lord is able to work things even in such an emergency. A man, one not of his own race, became aware of his situation and immediately made representation to the king on his behalf and was successful in his plea. He was moved to intervene and so the man of God was saved out of his seemingly doomed state. A friend turned up to play a major role in his extreme circumstances thus revealing that the Lord had everything under control. He had not forgotten him nor would He allow him to become the victim of the wicked. Both God and Ebed-melech were his friends and so was marvellously helped.

One of the most important assets in life is in possessing a real friend. They cannot be really valued. They are worth their weight in gold. In times of crisis and sorrow it is assuring to know that there is someone who can be depended on to lend a hand or encourage in a positive manner. It is necessary for all to be a friend and to positively nurture friendship. There are those around that require you to act in this capacity. Discover what it is to be a friend to others and see its lasting rewards. Do not let the opportunities slip by when you can make so many good friends.

IN MESSAGE

The Lord has something new and fresh to accomplish in and through you today. You are His special offspring and He delights in doing beautiful things for His own. So let your faith and expectation level be up to scratch. Be prayerful and open to the leadings of His Holy Spirit and you shall behold His plans for the next hours. There are fresh people to greet and meet that will have a choice bearing upon your life and experience, new engagements in tasks never previously engaged in and places and doors that will open to you. Thank the LORD for the past but today is a new day!

A WISE SAYING

“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can take nothing out” – 1 Timothy 6: 6,7.

The secret of contentment is this, the realization that life is a gift not a right.

One thing to note: you do take the character you have made into the next life so make sure you are always at your best in and for Christ.”

PROMISES TO BE EXPERIENCED

The promise extended to you today is what was afforded the psalmist: “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you shall go: I will guide you with mine eye” – Psalm 32: 8 The ever watchful eye and providential hand of the LORD will always be active and visible, to secure you from taking the wrong road and making any mistakes. He who has successfully negotiated the saints from the past throughout their lifetime is still around to do the same for you. He knows the way perfectly and is able to inspire you to tread the appointed route that ensures your fruitfulness, faithfulness and blessedness. You will be able to sing in faith and pleasure: “All the way my Saviour leads me.”

DAILY MEDITATIONS

 DON’T BE FOOLED – Jeremiah 37

This was the message that God’s messenger had to pass on to the king of Judah lest he get a wrong understanding on the situation that was occurring. The Babylonians were withdrawing from the siege of Jerusalem and as a result the impression was in the mind of the monarch that they were now in a better and secure position. The problem was they were misreading the matter and forming a wrong conclusion. What was happening was of a temporary nature because the Babylonians had gone to deal with the threat of the Egyptians forces.

The message was clear: “Do not fool yourselves that the Babylonians are gone for good. They aren’t!” – v9. The fact that His people were still sinful and rebellious to Him and His messages and messenger necessitated the return of the foe. The price was to be duly paid because of the evil that was being carried on in their midst. They were being hoodwinked and deceived by sin and by this fresh development. The prophet in God sought to straighten them up in their thinking and to speak the truth on all fronts so that they should not be deluded and suffer awful loss.

One of the great needs of life at all times is that of wisdom and truth: to really know what is taking place and to be able to make the right judgments and decisions. It is so easy to be fooled and so make major mistakes that lead to total ruin. Sin, in particular, is a great deceiver and Satan so dresses it up to make it look right and attractive but in the end it is destructive. As you keep sensitive to the Holy Spirit and the Word of God you can be delivered and safeguarded from making a fool of yourself and your future. Make sure you do not become a fool.

IN MESSAGE

Do not let fear be the dictating and dominating factor in your being and behaviour. Fear seeks to weaken you on a daily basis and you must expel in through the Holy Spirit, the Name of Jesus and the authority of God’s Word. You must not allow anyone or anything to intimidate your spirit but to be bold and courage with what heaven will supply. The chief principal weapon of Satan is fear, so if you can dis-arm this in your life then you will be the master and not the slave. There will a progressive and successive move in your nature, behaviour, and success that will prove to bring immense blessing to you and others. So rise today in faith and dominate the scene!

A WISE SAYING

“And the seed is the good soil, these are the ones who have heard the word in honest and good heart, and hold it fast, and bear fruit with perseverance” – Luke 8:15 (NASB)

The secret of success is to start from scratch and keep on scratching.

Seed sown in the right conditions is sure to yield a good and bumper harvest.

PROMISES TO BE EXPERIENCED

Nothing could be more certain than this sacred guarantee: “But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” – Philippians 4:19. As you have taken the time and opportunity to bless others with what you have, you will discover out of the abundance of your Father’s eternal storehouse there will flow bountiful blessings of a surprising quality and worth that will meet all your needs. There is no lack in your God and you will not suffer from lack either. In fact, you will have much more to release to many others because of the constancy and richness of what is poured into your life. You have a God who cares and is always up to meet your never. Remember, you may seem to be in crisis, but this is not so with your God.

DAILY MEDITATIONS

GOD’S WORD ABIDES – Jeremiah 36

There have been those who have sought to burn and banish God’s Word throughout the centuries but all to no avail. It happened in the life of this faithful prophet. He was called upon to write out a prophetic word from the Lord to the nation in order to bring a change in the people through repentance. It was made clear that the people were under divine sentence and that an invading power would soon arrive to execute it. It was sent for all to be acquainted with, through Baruch, who was the prophet’s scribe. The leaders sensed there was something ominous and threatening afoot and so forwarded it to the monarch, Jehoiakim, the responsible head, who was in his winter apartment seated near a fire.

He was none too pleased as the scroll was read and proceeded to cut columns off in pieces and burned the same in the fire. But God’s Word could not be disposed of and despatched as readily as that. Jeremiah was called to re-write a further copy and add to the original composition, affirming the disaster that would overtake the king and his family. He would have to pay an awful price for his attitude and actions. God would dispose of him and all that appertained to him.

It is important that Christians in particular learn how to treasure the good Word of God. In the knowledge of how God has brought the Scriptures into being and wonderfully preserved them, in the awareness of the sacrifice that many people have made both in life, energy time to record and safeguard them, there should be a wholesome regard for them. God’s Word should have a place of prominence and respect in your life, faith and conduct. As you honour it in faith and obedience you will discover it will enrich and advance you in a positive manner.

IN MESSAGE

“Count your blessings, name them one by one; And it will surprise you what the LORD has done.” This is to be a very blessing occupation, to think and meditate on all the lovely things He has brought into your life. The consequence of such should be a glorious time and praise and thanksgiving that increases your blessed state and sets you up for much more. Daily you are paraded with fake news, false reports that easily take the delight out of your being. Refuse this way and look at all the good things that the LORD has wrought for you. You will begin to soar and greater expectations will be born that will exceed all that has ever gone before. Seize your opportunity now and begin to count!

A WISE SAYING

“Therefore all things whatsoever you would that men should do for you, do even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets” – Matthew 7:12

Forget yourself for mothers and others will not forget you. They will require no reminders!

PROMISES TO BE EXPERIENCED

The apostle said: “Now thanks be unto God who which always causeth us to triumph in Christ” – 2 Corinthians 2:14. Because you are a Christian and in Christ, all that is in Him is now available to you. Just as He was the Master of all, so you can know His mastery at work in you so that you more than cope, you live in the driving and dominating situation. Now you welcome the opportunity of proving His all sufficiency and His pleasure in you. Instead of wilting at the opposing factors set against you, these are the very things that make you more than conqueror. Others will gain inspiration and spiritual momentum by the example you set and great will be your joy as you see and participate in their victories.

DAILY MEDITATIONS

LEARN A LESSON – Jeremiah 35

The Lord invited the people of Judah and Jerusalem to learn the important lesson of obedience. He said in v13, “Come and learn a lesson about how to obey Me.” This was a major thing that they failed to do, to act in accordance to His will. He used a living example before them to show that it was possible to agree to do and live within the framework of a covenant. The Rechabites were a unique people who believed and acted according to the ideas and convictions of their founding father, Jehonadab. It was seemingly a difficult life style that had been laid on them as a succeeding generation, but they unquestioningly carried it on without murmur.

The problem that the Lord had to deal with concerning His people was their refusal to listen, believe and obey. If only they had been more attentive and responsive to His directions things would have turned out to their great good and gain. They ought to feel reproved that here were a people, close by, who knew how to do just that. The Lord liked the attitude of the Rechabites and so assured them of a future – v19. They would remain a constant witness to the importance of this way of life.

Obedience is a key factor within all those who are birthed into the Kingdom of God. There is not only to be forgiveness of sin, the prospect of Heaven, the blessing of a new beginning but also a premium of living the life of faith and obedience. Christ stated: “if you know these things, happy are you if you do them” – John 13: 17. In recognizing that He is Lord and Master, and the authority of His word, it is essential that there be total obedience to Him in all matters. It is imperative that you learn this lesson: that you obey Him at all times in all things and so show your loyalty.

IN MESSAGE

Much has happened that has brought you into a positive relationship with the LORD and now a sense of real destiny and expectation possesses your being. Do not allow this to die but make sure you quietly feed mind and heart with the promises of God and maintain a close accord with Him. There is still waiting time to be negotiated that requires faith and patience. They are being nurtured within even though negative conditions exist. You can resist through your LORD all that negative entities would extinguish what has been divinely deposited within and see the glorious realisation of all that has been vouchsafed. “Though it, tarry, wait for it; it shall surely come to pass.”

A WISE SAYING

“The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, He will deliver me out of the hand of the Philistine” – 1 Samuel 17:37

When confronted with a Goliath-sized problem, which way do you respond: “He’s too big to hit” or, like David, “He’s too big to miss.” greater is ‘He that is and for you’ than those that are opposed.

Do not be intimidate by anyone or anything – even the devil himself and his cohorts, for you have been made sufficient in and through Christ.

He is altogether sufficient and will supply that which you seemingly lack

.There will be the realisatio n that the LORD is preparing you wiytHe is perpparing you in readiness for the ultimate manifestation n of His eternal kingdom in which you woill have a role top play.

PROMISES TO BE EXPERIENCED

What a promise was made to the prophet of gloom in difficult condition!. He was in prison for Jehovah’s sake but then this guarantee became his: “Call unto me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things which you know not” – Jeremiah 33:3. It does not matter how problematic your circumstances are at the present, the invitation is now open to you to prove that your God is quite capable of dealing with such. Do not wallow in despair and defeat but place the whole issue into His capable hands through faith and prayer and He will have a way of performing the miracle, doing the impossible. As the old chorus puts: “He specializes in things thought impossible. He can do what no other can do”. By the way: He did get Jeremiah out of the prison and pit!”

DAILY MEDITATIONS

KEEPING YOUR WORD – Jeremiah 34

The Lord expressed His delight over the fact that there had been a proclaiming of freedom for the slaves in accordance with His Word. King Zedekiah had put the proclamation forth and there was immediate agreement on the issues. Then it states: “but later they changed their minds” – v11. There must have been quite pleasure experienced by those who had been freed but later it was turned to utter disappointment as the whole thing was cancelled out. The whole thing proved to be short-lived and temporary in the light of the changed mind and altered word.

As the Lord saw this conduct He was greatly displeased and expressed it in no uncertain terms. He was angry because they had disobeyed His Word and that they had shrugged off their covenant oath under the slightest whim. They should have kept both God’s Word and their own, too. The lack of integrity to their own agreement was sinful violation and would be judged. He wanted to let them know that when oaths and promises are made then they should be adhered to at all costs. In flagrantly disregarding their own good word they would be duly punished.

Christians must recognize that they must not only speak the truth, they must always make sure that they live up to their words especially in promise. Those around should be able to trust each disciple of Christ because as they hear them give assurances on any front that they will not be broken but sincerely kept. It is good for believers to entertain the thought always that their word is to be their bond. Keep a watchful observance on what you speak, keeping special diligence on any promise or oath you have made to family, friends and others. Let others be able to treasure your word as they treasure you.

IN MESSAGE

A fresh look at where you and what you are doing before the LORD will not do you any harm. Pull off for a few moments with Him and rightly and prayerfully assess your beliefs and activities so that you are really up-to-date with Him and His plan for your being here. Do not relentlessly go on without some time spent in this way. It could save you a lot of regret in the future and needless expense of time and finance. Taking genuine stock is a worthwhile exercise that makes you a better individual and more efficient in your labours. As you look to the LORD He will certainly aid in drawing the right judgments and conclusions and set you on course for the next successful phase.

A WISE SAYING

“By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands th house droppeth through” – Ecclesiasteth 10:18

Do not permit and idle boner in your body but keep them properly and perfectly tone in constant work and activity of a profitable kind.

He is altogether sufficient and will supply that which you seemingly lack. There will be the realisatio n that the LORD is preparing you wiytHe is perpparing you in readiness for the ultimate manifestation n of His eternal kingdom in which you woill have a role top play.

PROMISES TO BE EXPERIENCED

A great assurance is offered to you in Hebrew 10:35 – “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompense of reward”. Those early Hebrew Christians were in danger of losing and missing out on the ultimate blessings that was to be theirs in Christ. They needed to retain their faith and nourish it because of its prospects. Israel lost their faith in the wilderness and missed out choice possessions. Learn to know what has been promised you in Christ today. Lay hold of the same because there is nothing to equal His blessings which are destined to be yours. Begin to enter into the fullness of life that is now yours and do not be robbed by anyone or anything.

DAILY MEDITATIONS

GREAT AND MIGHTY THINGS – Jeremiah 33

This is a precious and particular promise given by the Lord to His people when circumstances were extremely difficult. He says: “Call unto Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you know not” –v3. The conditions that God’s people were bad as they were being desolated, and it looked as if things would get exceedingly worse. The great and mighty things taking place were apparently negative and destroying them. All that they had trusted in was being swept away and their whole future looked abysmal. Wherein did their real hope lay?

The answer to that question is the Lord and in His word of promise. Although things would reach a very low point and they would be reduced to almost being a non-entity and no longer a nation, yet the Lord would turn things about in a great way. They needed to turn their attention to Him and pray for a supreme reversal and renewal and it would come. He points out the choice things that are going to happen as He moves in response to their plea. They would be remarkable and prove that He was more than able to turn everything to their advantage.

There are occasions in a believer’s and local church life and experience when all is seemingly devastated, when all is taken away and there is nothing and no one to rely on. The Lord comes on the scene with a prophetic word and affirms the need to seek Him and to pray because He wills to transform matters in a mighty way. He is still the great and mighty God that desires to reveal and do great and mighty things. More than anything else He wants to answer you and to underline His great care and commitment. Dare to believe and call upon Him today.

IN MESSAGE

A lesson that really needs to be learned is that of resting. It is possible to think and even feel you are doing this but in point of fact you are fooling yourself and such can court disaster. The secret of renewal and to live and to serve effectually means knowing the art and act of resting. Many have burned out before their time and feel worthless and useless because this has not been in their agenda. Just living with and being with a crowd and receiving their acceptance is not enough. A close association and identification with LORD is critical if you are to have a vision to the end and maintain it. Receiving His inspiration, strength, gifting etc., can only come through being with and spending time with Him apart. He is altogether sufficient and will supply that which you seemingly lack. There will be the realisation that the LORD is preparing you in readiness for the ultimate manifestation n of His eternal kingdom in which you woill have a role to play.

A WISE SAYING “If you have been trapped by what you said, ensnared by the words of your mouth, then do this, my son, to free yourself, since you have fallen into your neighbour’s hands: Go and humble yourself; press your plea with your neighbour” – Proverbs 6:2,3 (NIV)

The best way to get the last word is to apologize. To apologize is a difficult task to perform, to admit one’s wrong, but it is the wisest and the best course of action. If you need to do it, do not waste time.

PROMISES TO BE EXPERIENCED

Cultivate generosity and liberality for it knows rich dividends. “The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall watered also himself” – Proverbs 11:25.To ensure being blessed by the LORD and others, you need to embrace the spirit and commitment of the LORD. God is bountiful in His giving and ensures that those who embrace Him and His attitude, in this manner, will enjoy a very enriching life and life-style. In seeing others blessed and helped has a great feed-back; you enter into a mind and heart set that assures your own success and blessedness. See who you can water today and see the end result and learn the lesson. It is an act of faith that is owned by the LORD.

DAILY MEDITATIONS

THE GOD OF ALL FLESH – Jeremiah 32: 16-44

God lets it be known through His messenger that He is sovereign Lord over all the people of the earth and nations, too. He is in perfect and absolute control for all time in this arena. In His wisdom He has certain courses of action to take in relation to all and He possesses the power to do in accordance with His will. No one at any time should be belittle but should honour Him because of His unique position. Of all people, Israel should acknowledge this factor because they had clear manifestation of it in their history and it would be so again.

In the context the Lord shows this to be true by revealing that the Babylonians were but an agent in His hand to bring judgment against His people. They had been allowed to come and deal devastatingly with God’s own elect household because of their wickedness. The time would come when He would judge them. He also would express His sovereignty in restoring the fortunes of His people in incredible circumstances. Their release and security would come through His intervention and in Him using outside forces to aid His chosen race.

It is always a heartening truth to know that this remains to be a truth and fact in the world today. In the immense movements and happenings amongst nations the Lord still reigns and is accomplishing His will. Each believer in Him must rest in assurance in these critical days that He is outworking His end time programme. This is true at a personal level. He is your God today to initiate and produce those things in your life and work that will reveal His love and His hand of power. You can rest in His absolute authority knowing it is to your great good and advantage.

Let not what appears before you startle or overwhelm your mind and heart and reduce you a state of fear and impotence. Be positive in your relationship with Him and you will discover that the present exercises are but preparation for your place in the manifestation of His eternal kingdom. WISE SAYINGS

“Be not rash with your mouth, and let not your heart be hasty to utter anything before God: is in heaven, and you upon earth: therefore let your words be few” – Ecclesiastes 5;2

The trouble with the guy who talks to fast is that he often says something he hasn’t thought of yet. The fewness of your words can contain a message of immense worth and relevance. Think before you speak and so save your breath and energy!

PROMISES TO BE EXPERIENCED

“As I was with Moses, so shall I be with you” – Joshua 1: 5. That must have been a very encouraging word to Joshua as he was called to assume the leadership and finish off what the LORD had commenced through his mentor. He could reflect on the glorious things Moses had achieved and be conscious of the LORD’S role in everything. Now it was opportune for him to know it and prove it. NOTHING TOO HARD FOR THE LORD – Jeremiah 32: 16-25

This is what God’s servant was convinced of with regard to the Lord. As he turns to pray to Him, there is an awesome sense in his being with regard to the One he is speaking to. He addresses Him as Sovereign Lord! You are the great and powerful God, the Lord Almighty” – vv17, 18. Although he may be in trying circumstances, he has not lost sight and sense of the One who holds Israel’s destiny in His hands. As far as Jeremiah is concerned, the One that he loves and serves possesses all wisdom and power to perform miracles as He wills. There is nothing too hard for Him to accomplish and in this he rests his faith.

Looking back over the corridors of time in Israel’s history the record reveals the outstanding and memorable work that the Lord did in bringing them out of slavery, making them His people and in giving to them the land of Canaan. It was a tremendous thing to do, which could never be forgotten and was always to act as a stimulus to faith and worship. The assurance for Jeremiah was that God was quite able to work again even if God’s people were taken to Babylon and made slaves. In His time and way He would perform miraculously again: He is ever the same

There should never be any minimizing of the Lord but a constant recognition of who He is and what He is able to do. There is no situation that He cannot move into and resolve even though it may require a miracle. It should be remembered that the extraordinary is a very ordinary matter with Him. Miracles are a simple and natural thing with Him. If you need divine intervention in your affairs then possess a true revelation of Him and honour Him in prayer and faith. You will see that nothing is too hard for Him to do for you. He will give testimony to this truth.
