This should be our daily aspiration and devotion, the desire and readiness to seek Him for who He really is. Noting short of this is good enough for the One who is all loving and attractive with all perfect qualities and abilities to be known in all their fullness. As one lives close to Him then there is birthed the desire and will to be like Him. Something of His presence and influence is quietly but effectively imparted so that divine transformation occurs and makes a valid contribution to life as a whole. Never allow anyone or anything to interfere with this primary daily dedication. It will turn out to be your greatest asset in life, God and you and you and God!

In the early days of my Christian life and experience we used to sing a lot of hymns on consecration. Amongst them was the one the evoked utter challenge – “All to Jesus I surrender”. The demand was presented in all of its certainty and clarity as Christ had unequivocally surrendered to the Cross with all of its pain and suffering for us so the return should be no less. Holman Hunt painted the scene of the Cross with this caption and inscription – ‘All this I have done for thee: what hast thou done for me?’ One man was riveted by the masterpiece painting but became totally arrested by the Master on the Cross. He was instrumental in commencing a great missionary movement that led to the glorious declaring of the Christian message, the Cross of Christ.

One of the main duties of the priest within the Tabernacle and the Temple of old was to be ever committed to tending the care of the wicks and the supply of oil to maintain a good light. If they were to accomplish their calling aright they could not afford to be negligent. So the simple but needful job attention to this simple demand. Our Christian lives are to be as lamps lit up by Christ and maintain that unique glow that only He can give. He will ever seek you trimmed as you maintain a dynamic accord with Him. You have been lit up by Him to light all around you.

There is little doubt it, when Jesus said, “If someone asks you to go a mile with them, offer to go another one”. By so doing there is evidence of big-mindedness and large-heartedness revealed. Instead of being mean and stingy there is both an out flowing and overflowing of generosity that is usually welcome. At this crisis hour of the coronavirus there is a demand for people to show compassion, concern and commitment. Many have exemplified this and aided many. When Paul was shipwrecked on the isle of Malta there were folks on that little island that went the extra mile if caring. They were rewarded in seeing miracles taking place and countless numbers being helped and blessed. It is the extra mile today!

When it would appear you have every reason to be discouraged do not react negatively but become open and responsive to the best possible answers. Instead of being bowed down by the evil adopt a positive attitude that will set you up to deal with the menace. Know it is principal arrow in the artillery of Satan to denude you of your dynamic faith and trust in the LORD which is most rewarding. The wind is truly taken out of his sails when he can no longer brow-beat the child of God. Be encouraged for “greater is He that is in you than he that is the world” – 1 John 4:4. Our spiritual battles won will serve as a source of inspiration and testimony that will be to the glory of KING and His KINGDOM.

Although this may not seem to be case in the world scene in which we exist, be assured that the LORD is ever at calm and is in perfect balance and calm. Amidst the presence on earth of very eruptive and volcanic incidences amongst mankind He is in charge and control and is precisely working according to His plan. There is no likelihood that He is going to fail in His accomplishments. All is calm with God and is undisturbed by all that withstand. Even Satan does not get a look-in as far as He is concerned and will be consigned to eternal darkness. Allow the calmness of the LORD to enter your being through the faith of Him and as a blessed consequence you will perform each day in a positive state.

The are certainly limits to the boundaries of the sea, stages at which each day will run and restrictions on the gifting of the people. They can go so far and find that though much maybe accomplished through them. Recognition is right but the point comes where you have reached your acquired and developed potential. There has been progress and success and a maximum. point obtained. It is from this situation that you are through Christ to exert and exploit what has been bestowed. It is to be the finest period of your days. All that He has personally given and perfected is to come forth at a needy hour.what backing and blessing could require more. He stands by your side to see that you reach the limits He has set.

There are times when things are determined in the admixture of mind and emotion. They can be conflict and somehow the wisest course needs to taken. Letting things simmer down and listening humbly to what others may have to say could give some a light and answer on the issue. And surprise, surprise, what was difficult to determine is resolved. Solomon was gifted in this way. People thought he was good at handling affairs. Two women both had babies the same night. They both slept alongside each other. Regrettably one overslept her offspring and the sad result, death. How callous her response and in exchanging the infants. The true mother of the babe brought the issue to Solomon for his judgement. He found the right answer in wise action. Difficult to determine but he got it right.
