THOUGHTS TO QUICKEN AND INSPIRE

DO NOT LAG BEHIND: There are regrettably people who are detrimental to others in their way of life because they fail to keep up in their work and walk. They hang behind and prevent things going forth at a better rate and more effectively. It would seem that they get some of pleasure of holding others up from making progress. All should learn to live and work at a pace where they render benefit and so make things easier and better for others. Check yourself out and see if you are most reliable and dependable for being in the right spot to lend a hand and give assistance so that no one is stood waiting for you to do your role. Being slack and slothful is not creditable and you lose the good will of family and friends. Be wise and smart and always at hand to serve either in some small or great manner. It is a blessing to be up front, ready for any task.

WISE COUNSEL

DO NOT BE JEALOUS: This certainly applies with regard to evil people. This is wise advice to be taken seriously. ‘Do not resentfully envy and be jealous of an unscrupulous, grasping man, and choose none of his ways’ – Proverbs 3:31. Do not be seduced or sucked in pursuing the same lifestyle. Avoid being switched on but keep clean and clear from such in motivation and behaviour. It is a bad thing to be known as a blackguard. As far as God is conce  rned, these folks are disgusting and detestable to Him – v32. They will be duly judged and the just will come out on top and be blessed. They know what it is to have a good and worthwhile standing with Him. They are in a well-placed situation and to be truly envied. Keep your slate clean and you will be amply rewarded.

MESSAGES IN THE MAKING

THE PROFITABLE LIFE – Psalm 1

This should be the aspiration and ambition of evevery person, to live the kind of life that yields the greatest profit and dividends.

This psalm is foundational to successful living and points the way to the greatest good and advantage.

1/. THE PROFITABLE LIFE IS ONE THAT PLACES GOD INTRUS POSITION HIS – vv1-3

It is not simply negative in what is not embraced or done but in the positive faith and obedience to God and His directives.

2/. THE PROFITABLE LIFE IS THE ONE THAT KNOWS GOD’S BLESSING – v3

What better figure could be used than a luxurious fruitful tree that knows immense fruitfulness at every level and stage.

3/. THE PROFITABLE LIFE STANDS IN CONTRAST TO THE OPPOSITE – vv4,5

Worthless and meaningless chaff is quite a description!

4/. THE PROFITABLE LIFE KNOWS THE OVERSEEING OF GOD – v6

Finishes up God approved and moves on to greater existence and blessedness.

NEW HORIZONS: There are always new and greater horizons to be known, believed in, entered into and experienced to the full. Past successes and failures are not to be lingered upon but a decisive mind and heart possessed to pursue in faith that which is being unveiled. Many dwell in the lowlands of fear and doubt and refuse to enter into the highlands of purer air and pleasant vistas. Now is the time to take hold of what is revealed and give others an awareness that there is more to life than mere existence or marching on the same spot in endless fashion. You have to learn to believe and know that your best hours and day lay immediately ahead. Shake off all dull sloth and gird your inward condition with a firm and fixed resolve that today, ‘the move is on.’

WISE COUNSEL

KEEP YOUR ACCORD: ‘Contend not with a man for no reason-when he has done you no wrong’ – Proverbs 3: 30. Why on earth seek to be contentious with someone who is at peace with you! Make certain when someone lives peaceably alongside you that you seek to make the accord more worthwhile the advantage. This choice benefit must not be allowed to be ruined by some stupid and selfish action. Why have anarchy and ill-will caused by you acting in an unbecoming manner. Union and communion is sure to profit and yield the kind of things that generate a loving atmosphere. Strengthen your ties today and make the bond stronger.

BREAK OUT OF THE NORM: it is so easy to be a settler than a pioneer. Whilst it is an excellent consideration to become grounded and fixed in wholesome factors, there should always be the will to try something fresh. Celebrating a special birthday, my oldest son was ready to be taken out to a quality hotel by his younger brother and experience and taste such a meal he had never known before. As he recited it to me what he had eaten indicated every mouthful was a new pleasure in the realm of taste! So many people, especially when they get older lose out because they become set in their ideas and ways. They have established a norm which has become a rut and a grave. Let me encourage you to see the ways and means by which you can expand life in every way and enjoy more than ever all that is yours. Give yourself and somebody a treat, surprising them and yourself.

WISE COUNSEL

This is beautiful counsel from the good book, the Bible, written centuries ago. ‘Do not contrive or dig up or cultivate evil against your neighbour, who dwells trustingly and confidently beside you’ – Proverbs 3: 29. Be the best friend you can be to them and let it grow and blossom into lasting delights. It does not mean living in each other’s houses, or knowing too much about each other’s business and affairs. It is showing loving care and foresight, effectually building quietly and warmly ties that are in dissolvable. Going in for this sort of thing can be regarded as one of life’s greatest assets. The value of such neighbours cannot be summed up in mercenary terms. So put heart into this pursuit and begin to enjoy its blessings with your current neighbours!. Do not have enemies living next door. Make them your dearest friends!

Look back and note all good things that have blessed and increased your faith and pleasure. Let them become a springboard for the anticipation of even greater events and experiences. Allow the seeming difficult and bad things that have assailed be teaching lessons learning from them that will aid better the handling of issues that can be disturbing and traumatic. Ever consider you are a person in the making by the Almighty in character and charisma. He has invested so much in time, effort and gift so that in the end both He and you will be thrilled with the result. Know that you were birthed naturally and spiritually by Him to realise something of worth and significance that will endure forever. That us something worth knowing and pursuing!

WISE COUNSEL
GRACE OF GENEROSITY – ‘Withhold not good from those to whom it is due when it is in the power of your hand to do it. Do not say to your neighbour, Go and come again; and tomorrow I will give it – when you have it with you’ – Proverbs 3: 27, 28. When the opportunity arises to manifest the great grace of generosity, don’t dilly and dally about how you should react. Seize the privilege of bestowing immediate blessing and both the gift and the way you do it will prove a delightful experience. You are not losing out but sowing that which will yield bountiful blessings ahead. Know you are destroying a niggardly mind-set and conduct that does no-one any favours. Discover a procedure of life that is worth practicing.

GET A MOVE ON: Do not suffer from dead legs and so become immovable and irretrievable settling to a settled state. As the body was made for action and accomplishments so, too, you as a person were created in order to exploit your latent abilities for good and the glory of God. Do not live envying others of their faith and lifestyle. Let there be a sparkle, enthusiasm engulf and motivate so that observers note you mean business each day. Start the day with vision from your LORD, the things He wills to introduce into your affairs that will find you further ahead in your journey with Him. Take time to record and spell out the way you have come, where you are now and what lies to be fulfilled. Do not exist as a lot of people do to be merely entertained, get on with living as the LORD purposed it for you. One thing is sure: you will be glad you kept moving especially in the right direction and things.

WISE COUNSEL

‘Be not afraid of sudden terror and panic, nor for the stormy blast or the storm . . . For the LORD shall be your confidence, firm and strong, and shall keep your foot from being caught in a trap of some hidden danger’ – Proverbs 3: 25, 26. You live in a world and scene of alarm, the ambulances, fire-engines and police cars blare out their weird noises to awaken people that there is something happening that requires instant attention and pacification. There is so much that occurs on the daily front that rouses the senses in this negative fashion. The LORD seeks to put your mind, heart and will at rest before such takes place. Be assured, He is always around to deal with any sudden emergency that sounds the alarm bells. He is never alarmed, always at peace and He will set you with His sentinels of peace to secure your well being – see Philippians 4: 7, 8.

RESPECT: One of the things that appears to be missing from our generation is respect. It is that honest and humble regard for people in all walks of life. It begins in the home, is to be apparent in school and college from infancy to being a university student, for those who are your employees, for government, monarchy etc. Everyone is personally responsible for the manifestation and development of this gracious and winsome quality. If others do not regard you as they should, make sure that you possess and reveal such as a habit and attitude. Paying deference and esteem for others expresses the right kind of breeding and ultimately gains advantage. It truly does with God. As He is respected, loved and listened to, He has a quiet, unassuming manner of honouring those who do so. So, today, be at your best in having high regard for all the folks around you and discover its blessing!

WISDOM’S WAYS

Persistence in the path of divine wisdom and godliness has a great pay out that is eternally rewarding. You are encouraged – ‘My son, let them not escape from your sight, but keep sound and godly Wisdom and discretion’ – Prov 3: 21. As you are constantly inspired and controlled by heavenly sense and knowledge you will soon make this discovery – ‘life to your inner self, a gracious ornament around your neck . . you will walk in your way securely and in confident trust . . . your sleep will be sweet’ – vv21-2. What could be better for you and a good bill of health in God! Such does not drift into life but there has to be the insistence of quality factors if you are to experience the delights of the same. Know that the LORD does observe whether you attend to these matters and He is the great, ultimate Rewarder!

GAIN FROM YOUR MENTORS – The LORD has placed by our side and in our lives lots of people who are able to add to our lives for good. There are no substitutes for being instructed and taught by choice parents who have our well-being and progress at heart. For our teachers at school, college and university, who have given of their time and talent to educate to profit. I shall never forget my head teachers and teachers who showed due concern over my advancement in early life. For our bosses, friends, pastors and leaders who seek our spiritual growth and usefulness. I cherish the memory of so many who gave themselves to my development and usefulness. Having gained a healthy state and gift, become a mentor. Seek to develop the mentoring ability so that you can ably assist others to become somebody of worth. Facebook has served me well in able to exploit what I have to others and such has been welcomed. May we all be greatly educated for God and His kingdom!

WISE COUNSEL

The perfect and abiding example of the possession and use of wisdom and knowledge is God Himself. One needs to know and learn from Him so that we are best instructed. It affirms ‘The LORD by skilful and godly Wisdom has founded the earth; by understanding He has established the heavens. By His knowledge the deeps were broken up and the skies distil the dew’ – Proverbs 3: 19, 20. All that we behold above, around and beneath is due to His infinite knowledge and you are given the opportunity to note the wonder of all and learn from all. All around are to be a teaching character, revealing the Almighty in the expression of His perfect knowledge. His best work, however, is not the universe or this world, but you. Each of us have been ‘fearfully and wonderfully made by Him’ – Psalm 139. What were you made for? – To demonstrate His wisdom and knowledge at a very quality level in this world. Get the point and learn all you can of and from Him!

GOOD WORKS – This is where the Christian faith has to be known in the right spirit, reason and attitude, doing good. The LORD performed a good work for you when He died in your stead on the Cross thus restoring you into fellowship with God. It also secured you from the judgment of hell and purchased a place in God’s family and a future home in heaven. There can be nothing better and greater than such. This good work should serve as a motivator to your own life and doings. You can now pour out your life daily in performing acts of kindness to all around. Tell them about the good work Christ has done in and for you and then reveal in kindness how radical the renewal has been in you. Being made good is in order that you will emulate your LORD in doing good. A high-quality work is a quiet but powerful sermon!

WISE COUNSEL

BE SURE TO POSSESS: Five things it appears of a glorious quality are afforded to those who know and embrace wisdom as revealed in Proverbs 3: 15-18. Each one on its own is worth going for and possessing. True knowledge is invaluable exceeding precious rubies or anything else. She gives length of days and adds years to one’s life. One is safeguarded from those things that precipitate one’s decease. She leads to a wonderful experience of life described in the word ‘pleasantness.’ There is nothing sombre or sad in her pursuit and possession. There is the absence of conflict in being, only a state of real peace which enables absolute control. She stands as a tree of life full of choice fruit which creates rich understanding and behaviour. The crowning admission: ‘to be envied is everyone who holds her fast.’ What a prize possession and position to be in! Make sure you are one of the people who become wise!

STEPPING OUT IN FAITH – If you are really going to accomplish something worthwhile and significant then you have to learn to step out in faith. Know that it not suddenly plunging yourself into mid-air with no sense of purpose or power. Faith is a confidence born of someone and something of quality that has been tried and found true and worthwhile. The best kind is the faith that is to be found in God and in what He has communicated to you both in precept and promise as revealed in the inspired Book, the Bible. He wills that you know how to trust Him and in what He has uttered. He ever stands by what He has spoken. Begin to step and walk with God and there will be a forward movement of your life into a very choice and blessed existence. He will keep you company and impart the strength to make upward progress that will be gloriously rewarding.

WISE COUNSEL

If you really want to make it and be very successful you could do no better than being aware of the following from Proverbs 3: 13, 14 – ‘Happy (blessed, fortunate, and envious) is the man who finds skilful and godly Wisdom, and the man who gets understanding (drawing it forth from God’s Word and life’s experiences. For the gaining of it is better that the gaining of silver and the profit of it than fine gold’. As you live in the Scriptures of Truth and allow such to live in you, the end result you will become wise and a helpful instructor to others. You will discover what you really ought to know, believe and practise and enjoy the results. In no way will you have to parade your wisdom or your life. There will be the pronounced evidence of a person well groomed, attractive and winsome on all occasions and in all situations. Aim to be wise with the wisdom that comes from God!
