WELCOME TO THIS CHRISTIAN WEBSITE

Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible. something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

A GOLDEN PROMISE

“Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me; declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things that are not yet done; saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure”- Isaiah 46: 9, 10

Our Elder Brother is known as the Alpha and the Omega. The beginning and the end. The Triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit have always been and always will be. In today’s promise, we read from Isaiah 46:10 that God knows the end from the beginning and all His plans will be fulfilled.

Many times in life, I feel like I can only see a few short steps ahead but it gives me such great comfort to know that my God and Father knows the end from the beginning. In Psalm 139:16 King David makes this declaration about God… Your eyes saw my body. In your book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there were none of them. (WEB)

God has a plan for your life. He knit you together in your mother’s womb and ordained every one of your days, writing them in His special book before one of them ever came to be. We can rest in our God and Father’s goodness to watch over us and fulfil the plans He has for us. For He is a good Dad and He knows the end from the beginning.

WISDOM THAT WORKS
SPILT MILK – Rev. Bob Stevenson

“Love forgets mistakes; nagging about them parts the best of friends. A rebuke to a man of common sense is more effective than a hundred lashes on the back of a rebel. The wicked live for rebellion; they shall be severely punished” – Read Proverbs 17:9-11

We have all heard the saying, “It’s no good crying over spilt milk”, which means, what ever was the cause of the accident or mistake you may have made, the sooner you forget about it and move on, the better it is going to be for all concerned.

Unfortunately, this approach is not always applied when we make some mistakes. So often we can get such comments like the following. “Will you never learn”? Or, “What did you do that for”? Or, the classic put down of all, “Can’t you do anything right”? We could elaborate on all these kinds of comments, but the sad thing is, that they certainly are not going to put the mistake right and even worse, create feelings personal devaluation and humiliation.

The last thing we need when we have made a mess of things, is for somebody to point out what is the obvious. Relationships get even more strained when we keep getting reminded of our shortcomings with continual comments like, “I knew that would happen again” or “I told you so”. It is amazing to me that naggers never seem to learn that their negative verbiage is completely counter productive and in the end will finally isolate them from even the most committed of friendships.

CHOICE QUOTATIONS
MOTHER

My mother was the most beautiful woman I ever saw. All I am I owe to my mother. I attribute all my success in life to the moral, intellectual and physical education I received from her – George Washington

My mother had a great deal of trouble with me, but I think she enjoyed it – Mark Twain

My mother said to me, ‘If you are a soldier, you will become a general. If you are a monk, you will become the Pope.’ Instead, I was a painter, and became Picasso – Pablo Picasso

Throughout my life, my mom has been the person that I’ve always looked up to – Mike Krzyzewski

DAILY MEDITATIONS – A COURSE THROUGH THE BIBLE
PILGRIMAGE – Numbers 33

When Israel left Egypt for the Promised Land they became pilgrims just like their ancestors Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. There was to be no real settling down until they arrived at their final destination. It was not to be an easy thing pitching and pulling up their tents on a regular basis as they made their camps en-route. They must have longed and desired for a more settled situation without the constant daily upheaval. It was a case of a whole nation on the move doing the same thing and the leadership responsibility must have proved quite difficult for Moses.

This chapter details the route they took and the places they visited. Many of the venues reminded them of things that took place there and of the occasions when God had wonderfully intervened. Were it not for His concern and commitment to them they would never had made it. He was with them every day and all the way until the advent and possession of the land.

Peter addresses early Christians with this particular name – “Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims” – 1 Peter 2: 11. We need to be frequently reminded of the spiritual truth that this world is not the believer’s home. All are passing through this world, which is but temporary. Our eyes and heart must be fixed on something bigger, better and eternal. Whilst here, however, you can rely upon the presence, guidance and providence of God. It is an important stage in the development of life, character and gift in readiness for a larger role in Christ’s Kingdom.
