WELCOME TO THIS CHRISTIAN WEBSITE

Welcome to this Christian Website which has now been going for a number of years. Over 130,000 people have visited it since 2006. On the left hand side of the introductory page is a host of subjects and material that have been placed during this time and is there for your interest, study and perusal.

I feel it is time and right to change the format and to present day by day something a little simpler and trust will benefit and bless those who visit it. It will consist of A Golden Promise from the Scriptures, Wisdom that Works by Bob Stevenson, Choice Quotations and daily Meditations, working through the whole Bible, something to focus your mind on are included that can be developed more fully by you. I trust you will find such refreshing and helpful.

A GOLDEN PROMISE

Because your loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise you” – Psalm 63:3
In this promise, the psalmist is making a declaration of God’s amazing lovingkindness and how His love is better than life itself. The writer goes on to say that the only appropriate response to such a wonderful love is to live a life of loving God back in the form of presenting our bodies as living sacrifices.

I really believe that every person on the planet was created to respond to love. In 1 John 4:19, it says that we love because He first loved us. God is the ultimate initiator and we are His ultimate responders. When we truly begin to receive His lovingkindness in every area of our lives, the only appropriate response is to love Him back with every fiber of our being and praise His wonderful name!

Our God and Father’s desire is that we live in His love all the days of our lives, and be a vessel in which His love can flow to us and then through us. The more that I experience Papa’s amazing, unconditional love for me, the more that I join with this verse and declare that God’s loving-kindness is better than life!

WISDOM THAT WORKS

GETTING  NOWHERE FAST – A Rev. Bob Stevenson

”To trust a rebel to convey a message is as foolish as cutting off your feet and drinking poison! In the mouths of a fool a proverb becomes as useless as a paralysed leg”.

Read: Proverbs 26:5-8.

Jesus warned us about the possibility of becoming like the person being described in today’s Proverb.

When it comes to words from God’s mouth, faithfully preserved for us in the Bible, we have more than mere philosophy or morality, we have spirit and life. God’s word is not just black print on white paper. It is life imparting, faith inspiring and direction giving. It is the wisest of any wisdom. It is the purest of all truth. It has the power to change us, to enlighten our darkness and shed light on the way ahead.

However it is only these things if we are prepared to act on its revelation, if we are willing to put it into practice, if we have the courage to trust it and obey it to the letter. This was the whole point of Jesus’ story about building your house of life on the right foundation. It is not just about following a religious creed out of some slavish duty. It is the application of its truth in our daily lives that enables us to arrive at the destination God intends individually for each of us. (See Matt 7:24-27)

To fall into the trap of glibly quoting the most profound words of wisdom without having any intention of doing what they say, will, like a paralyzed leg, get you nowhere fast.

QUOTES TO NOTE – Henri Nouwen

Each day holds a surprise. But only if we expect it can we see, hear, or feel it when it comes to us. Let’s not be afraid to receive each day’s surprise, whether it comes to us as sorrow or as joy It will open a new place in our hearts, a place where we can welcome new friends and celebrate more fully our shared humanity.

DAILY MEDITATIONS

A GREAT RESPONSE – 1 Samuel 11

Things appeared to even improve and become more assured as Saul responded to a new and challenging situation.  A conflict arose, not of his choosing or provocation, that had to be dealt with and he was stirred and stimulated by God into action – v6 “Then the Spirit  of God came upon Saul when he heard this news, and his anger was greatly aroused.”  He responded to the divine intervention in his being and made a strong appeal to the nation to deal with this immediate crisis by enlisting for the battle. In such a short time all was dramatically changed from one of weakness to strength.

He was not to be disappointed because there was a vast response and he had 330,000 men come to join him to take on the enemy – v8. It would appear that the Spirit that had moved in him had also been imbibed by the people and they were ready to enter the fray. What a start to his military campaign for God! They were able to deal with the threat and crush the opposition and all Israel became aware of the fact that he was the man whom the Lord had selected to rule and lead them. All the obstacles were now out of the way to his enthronement.

When the Lord is in the business of anointing and appointing, we too, can expect this support both from the Lord and the people. In the timing and ordering of the Lord He can raise up an host that is capable of dealing with all the spiritual opposition that confronts the Christian Church. He is able to bring both His leaders into place and into the driving seat so that the powers of evil are overcome and ruined. Know that He has set you apart for Himself and His purposes and that you require the daily anointing of His Spirit to fulfil His will. There are great challenges to be faced and accepted and seen through by you in and through God.
