IN MESSAGE

Choices will have to be made today of importance. Before you make ultimate decisions fully consider and comprehend their implications, what they will finally produce. Do not select the quick and less demanding factors thinking of a speedy outcome that may yield some profit. The long term requirements may well be the factors that will yield the most and bring great profit and pleasure. The wise man as Christ pointed out: he builds on rock to make certain that at the end all will end well. Good decisions save from mistakes and create immense satisfaction in the final conclusions.

A WISE SAYING

“Martha, Martha, You are careful about many things: but one thing is needful: and Mary has chosen the better part, which shall not be taken away from her” – Luke 10:40-42. The fact that this was spoken by Christ shows its infinite value. To sit at His feet and learn from is priority and is the most rewarding exercise. Do not mistake activity for achievement. Busyness does not equally productiveness.

PROMISES TO BE EXPERIENCED

“Who satisfieth your mouth with good things; so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s” – Psalm 103:4.There is no one that can fully satisfy the soul and life like the LORD, after all He created and knows what are the things that give the best in terms of satisfaction. He is the BEST and gives the Bests and we are at our Best when we learn to receive the BEST. Take time therefore today to draw nigh to Him, to wait before Him and let Him spread His bounteous table loaded with His goodies. You will not have to go elsewhere because all you need will be more than met in His provisions.

DAILY MEDITATIONS

NO ESCAPE – Jeremiah 43

It was a difficult spot for Jeremiah to be in. The officials who had seemingly wanted divine direction now turn against him and brand him a liar and do the opposite to what the Lord had said. They even made the prophet go with them along the path of disobedience in taking their flight to Egypt. There was no submissive will to the revelation that God had given. They would have been safe and secure in their homeland rather than taking this journey which only would result in further heartache. The opportunity to exercise faith in God’s Word was lost in the spirit of rebellion that prevailed amongst them. It would lead to further undoing.

On arrival in Egypt God gives an unfolding what is to take place there. The news given was that Nebuchadnezzar would invade and have success there in the ransacking of the place and the carrying away of captives. The disclosure therefore makes known the fact that it had been completely stupid and a waste of time and energy to have embarked on this enterprise. There was to be no escape from the Babylonians or from God. Running away from God and His purpose would end up disastrously. They would be in a far worse situation because of their sin.

Indeed, there is a major lesson to be drawn from this particular incident. It is possible to seek to escape from a tough situation and experience only to find oneself in deeper and darker waters. Far better to stay in certain conditions, knowing that the Lord has given His word of assurance in terms of protection than in getting away from under His covering. You may be in a circumstance right now where all looks to be one of fear and foreboding but the Lord is calling for your trust and commitment. Know this, He will secure and make the thing serve you.
